Dear Teachers,
We are most pleased to learn that your 2nd Teachers Teaching with Technology (T-cubed) Conference in Japan will be held this year on August 22 and 23. We just held the 10th annual international T^3 Conference in this past March in the US. Wee were very pleased and honored to have 9 teachers and educators from Japan. It was the largest delegation among our 21 invited international delegations. We are so very proud of the enthusiasm and expertise of these visiting Japanese teachers. Like in the US we depend on expert volunteer help for our conference.
We are very pleased to learn that three teachers, who are in the area where the conference is being held, have accepted to organize the conference this coming August. They are;
Mr. Yojiro Takeyam
Ms. Miho Ueno
Mr. Yuji Nakakomi.
We very much appreciate the wonderful voluntary efforts by these three outstanding teachers. At our 10th. T^3 conference in Nashville, we requested that three of your distinguished colleagues carryout T^3 activities in Japan as a model program in Asia. They are; |
Dr. Shin Hitotsumatsu | We are very honored to have his agreement to continue the role of
T^3 Japan Representative. |
Prof. Shin Watanabe | Because of his recent international activities and stature in the international community, we asked him to take the role of Worldwide T^3 Coordinator for Japan. |
Mr. Fusanori Nakazawa | Knowing him well and his excellent contributions to the society for over 3 years
we are very pleased to have his agreement to establish and maintain administrative
operation for T^3 Japan. |
We would like to respond to the high energy among all Japanese teachers interested in enhancing the teaching and learning of mathematics with hand-held technology by having the Ohio State University sponsor the visit of three T^3 US educators. We are very honored to send the following delegates to your second T^3 conference in August: |
Dr. Frank Demana | Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at OSU and Co-Founder of T^3 |
Mr. Edward Laughbaum | Associate Director, OSU T^3 College Short Course Program and Associate Director,
Ohio Early Mathematics Placement Testing Program Emeritus
Professor of Mathematics, Columbus State Community College |
Mr. Arne Engebretsen | Ggeendale High School, Math Department, Leading US T^3 Instructor,
Invited speaker and instructor by Australia Government ('97) |
We wish great success with your 2nd T-cubed Japan Conference. And we are are deeply honored to welcome the T^3 Japan group to our world-wide T-cubed organization.
Best regards,
Bert Waits and Franklin Demana
